The Morris Essex Insurance Group was formed under State statutes which authorize local government entities to pool resources to obtain low-cost insurance coverage.  Specifically, the Pool is a public entity risk sharing pool in which school districts have joined together to administer a program of self funding and reinsurance to provide protection to members primarily in the area of workers' compensation coverage.  Activities performed by the Pool include contracting for claims management, actuarial services, financial management and reporting, and general administration of the entity.
